Bronzer Plus Blush: A Killer Combo
No matter the season, I'm a big fan of the bronzed look (my favorite bronzer of the moment: Trish McEvoy's pressed shimmer powder). But bronzer alone can appear dull on skin. Skin looks best when dewy and hydrated. Here's a tip I learned from a makeup artist a few years ago: Apply bronzer to all the spots the sun naturally shines, then add "pop" with a hint of cream-based blush (skip the powder) on the apples of the cheeks. Right now I'm using Bobbi Brown's pot rouge for lips and cheeks (pictured left) and I'm loving it. Bronzer plus the moisturizing blush give me a dewy look that's very natural.
Extra tip: If you have fine lines and wrinkles, skip the powders and opt for cream-based foundations and blush. Powder tends to settle into fine lines and wrinkles, while creams hydrate and plump up skin.
