A new lingerie catalogue for pregnant ladies, which is due to go on sale in the UK, has been dubbed 'soft porn' due to its explicit images and risque title.
Lisa Ebbing and Angela Crosbie began their Hot Milk lingerie brand when they saw a gap in the market for exciting pregnant underwear but they have suffered a number of complaints from women receiving their latest catalogue.
Women in New Zealand have complained that seeing near-naked pregnant women is akin to soft porn and is offensive, but the label's designers have hit back at such criticisms.
"Our campaign, empowering pregnant women to be sexy, is a world first. Poor mums, at a stressful time in your life, all you can wear is horrible brown lingerie. It doesn't make you feel good," Ms Ebbing told the Sunday Star Times.
"Our designs say to women 'you can still be beautiful and sexy'. They can still be fun and cheeky and our product empowers them to feel better when there is a lot of change in their lives."
The Hot Milk brand is due to go on sale soon in the UK, Australia and the US.
